What is Invalid Click Activity?
How to Fill Out the Invalid Activity Appeal – Invalid activity in Google AdSense refers to any actions that violate Google’s AdSense program policies and terms of service. Some examples of invalid activity that can get your AdSense account banned or disabled include:
- Click Fraud: Clicking on your own ads or asking others to click on your ads to artificially inflate earnings is strictly prohibited.
- Publishers Encouraging Ad Clicks: Encouraging users through incentives, instructions, or other means to click on the ads.
- Using Automated Systems/Bots: Using any software, bots, or other automated methods to click on ads or generate invalid traffic.
- Ad Placement Violations: Placing ads in inappropriate locations like pop-ups, emails, software, etc.
- Content Violations: Having adult, violent, hate speech or other prohibited content on the site displaying ads.
- Cloaking: Showing different content to search engines than to actual users visiting the site.
- Selling Traffic: Purchasing traffic from untrusted sources or participating in traffic multiplying schemes.
- Invalid Markup: Modifying the ad code in disallowed ways or loading ads improperly.
Google takes invalid activity very seriously as it impacts their advertising partners. Violations can lead to account suspensions, bans, or even legal action in extreme cases of fraud. Following all AdSense policies carefully is crucial for publishers.
How to Prevent Invalid Traffic?
Here are some effective ways to prevent invalid traffic to your website
- Use a Web Application Firewall (WAF): A WAF monitors and filters incoming traffic, blocking malicious requests and bots that exhibit suspicious behavior patterns.
- Implement CAPTCHA: Adding CAPTCHA tests can help distinguish between human users and automated bots, preventing scrapers and crawlers from accessing your site.
- Use IP Blacklisting/Whitelisting: Maintain lists of known bad IP addresses (blacklist) and trusted IP addresses (whitelist) to block or allow traffic accordingly.
- Rate Limiting: Limit the number of requests allowed from a single IP address within a specific time frame to prevent excessive crawling or scraping.
- Honey Trap Links/Pages: Create trap links or pages that are invisible to humans but can be detected by bots, allowing you to identify and block them.
- Monitor Traffic Patterns: Analyze your traffic data regularly to identify unusual spikes, anomalies, or patterns that may indicate bot activity or invalid traffic sources.
- Use Anti-Scraping Tools: Implement tools or services specifically designed to detect and prevent web scraping activities on your site.
- Validate User Sessions: Implement secure session management techniques, such as using session tokens and timeouts, to prevent unauthorized access or session hijacking.
- Keep Software Updated: Regularly update your web server, content management system (CMS), and other software to patch security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by bots or malicious actors.
- Use Bot Management Services: Consider using third-party bot management services that specialize in detecting and mitigating invalid traffic and bot activities.

Q.1 How do users get to your site, mobile app, and/or YouTube channel? How do you promote your content? *
Most of my website traffic comes from organic Google and Bing searches. I also promote new posts on my verified social media accounts and YouTube channel. Some visitors return directly or come through tech forums. I never use paid clicks, bots, or traffic exchanges. All traffic is organic and monitored through Google Analytics to ensure compliance with AdSense policies.
Q.2 Have you or your site, mobile app, and/or YouTube channel ever violated the Adsense or Ad Manager program policies or Terms & Conditions? If so, how? *
My Adsense account previously received ad serving limitations due to invalid activity. This was caused by repeated unwanted clicks from external sources, likely competitors or malicious individuals, and not by me or my team. I take AdSense policies very seriously and have never encouraged such activity.
Q.3 What was the reason for invalid activity on your site, mobile app, and/or YouTube channel? Please provide detailed information about all specific reasons that you believe to be relevant in your case. *
The invalid activity on my account appears to have been caused by repeated unwanted clicks from external sources, likely competitors or individuals acting with malicious intent. These clicks were not generated by me, my team, or any automated tools. I believe the activity may have been triggered by direct targeting of my ads, attempts to harm my account, or by a few individuals repeatedly clicking ads out of personal or competitive motives.
Q.4 What changes will you implement to help improve ad traffic quality on your site, mobile app, and/or YouTube channel? *
I monitor all website traffic using Google Analytics and review AdSense reports for unusual activity. I’ve optimized ad placements, blocked suspicious IPs, and stopped sharing pages with ads in public groups. I promote my website only through Google search and verified social media to ensure all traffic is real and policy-compliant.
Q.5 Please include any data from your site, mobile app, and/or YouTube channel traffic logs or reports that indicate suspicious IP addresses, referrers, or requests which could explain invalid activity. *
From our server logs and Google Analytics exports, we identified several IPs that accessed pages with ad units in a short time window and generated multiple ad clicks from the same addresses. Suspicious IPs: 84.32.54.93, 73.40.30.186, 47.151.44.52. These addresses showed rapid repeated requests and unusually high ad-click counts in short periods. I have blocked these IPs at the server level, filtered them in analytics, and continue to monitor traffic to prevent further invalid activity.
